What Is CBD?

Let's talk CBD. No matter where you turn these days, you probably are seeing or hearing about it. But let there be no confusion. CBD is not just a fad. There are some profound benefits for those who are living with chronic illnesses.

CBD stands for cannabidiol, one of the two most abundant cannabinoids naturally found in cannabis plants. Unlike other cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD does not produce a "high" feeling. This is because CBD does not affect the same receptors as THC.

Good to know, right?

What Kind of Pain Does CBD Help?

There are continuous studies ongoing about how CBD works and what kinds of pain it can ease. Here are just a few types of pain it helps:

  • Arthritis Pain

  • Neuropathic (Nerve) Pain

  • Inflammation Pain

  • Migraine Pain

  • Cancer Pain

On top of pain, it also eases anxiety, seizures, epilepsy and may even reduce the effects of Alzheimer's.

How CBD Has Helped Me

I have personally used CBD for a restful night's sleep before deep stretching and severe arthritic pain.

The cannabis industry wasn't even on my radar until I had significant surgeries with heavy medications that left me feeling wiped out.

Alternative options like medical cannabis were still brand new even though here in California, we were the first to pass the compassionate use act of 1996

This miracle plant gave me my mobility back and improved the quality of my recovery and life tremendously!

How Does It Work?

CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a complex cell-signaling system that is not 100% understood. It plays a role in regulating various functions and processes, including sleep, mood, appetite, memory, and fertility. Mostly it is believed to reduce inflammation within the body.

CBD has been life-changing for so many people, myself included. There are so many different variations out on the market right now—everything from edibles to creams and everything in between.

Although it may seem exciting with all of the options, it is essential to notice your CBD product's quality. Make sure you are getting pure CBD that does not have a ton of other additives. Your pain relief is only as good as the product you are using.

I hope if you have not used CBD for chronic pain help, you give it a try. It could make a difference in your life.

Be well, my friends, and reach out if you need support.

Namaste.
